Two Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
