Massive Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Destruction

Homeowners witnessed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that multiple regions across the state had been hit with significant hail.

State Emergency Services received 598 emergency reports across the state, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

At the height on Sunday, in excess of 28k energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.

Climate Outlook

Moist weather were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coast.

The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential anticipated across various areas of both regions.

Health officials cautioned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
